‘Marketing is not a job. It’s a way of life’ and it is becoming something that we are ‘forced’ to do in order to ‘keep up’ with society.
Now I know that those of you who know me, know that I am a bit of a ‘marketing junkie’ and I know you’re probably thinking ‘Well, of course, she’s going to tell us that Marketing is a ‘lifestyle’. But I do believe that if you try to understand Marketing and use simple ‘marketing hacks’ you can enjoy the positives that it can bring either your personal or your business’ success. Note that marketing doesn’t always have to take place online for those of you who dislike Social Media, or who aren’t very tech-savvy.
Have you ever wondered how many decisions you make for yourself or someone else every day? Either for work purposes or personal purposes, you make endless decisions concerning anything from purchasing a product, to using a service, to consuming a good.
Have you ever wondered what it is that influences the way you think or what it is that helps you make up your mind for questions like: ‘What should I wear?’, ‘What should I eat?’, ‘Where should I go on holiday this year?’
Well, the answer is pretty simple and we all know it: MARKETING!
Whether you are interested in Marketing or not, you have to admit that it is a part of almost every minute of our lives. Marketing is something that we all experience in a conscious or unconscious way, and with the rapid improvement of technology, marketing’s transformation is now highly driven by technology’s enormous power and ubiquitous spread.
Many of us associate marketing with the ‘advertising’ or ‘promotion’ of a product or a service, but on many occasions we have to ‘market’ ourselves. Think about it.. How we behave and dress for a job interview might contribute to the image we are putting across. Our selection of words and tone of voice when giving a speech can influence people’s impression of us in just a few minutes.
In other words, Marketing is a powerful tool, that we can all use for FREE either for personal or professional purposes. It is a tool that (when used correctly) gives us voice and power, to express what we believe in and it assists us to find others who may have similar personal beliefs and perspectives on life. It is a tool that helps us telling the world what we are passionate about and what we do best! It maximizes our possibilities of getting noticed, giving other people the opportunity to identify themselves with us and share a common ‘happy’ place (platform) of thoughts, views, and opinions.
