My adventure began in Scottsdale, right in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. From there, we drove about two hours north until we reached Sedona, a landscape so striking it almost feels otherworldly.

Sedona, tucked away in the northern part of Arizona within the Coconino National Forest, is world-renowned for its awe-inspiring red rock formations. These geological masterpieces, shaped over millions of years by wind and water, form a breathtaking spectrum of colour, from deep crimson and burnt orange to soft lavender hues that shift with the light.

But Sedona’s magic goes far beyond its natural beauty. The area is also famous for its so-called energy vortexes, places believed to radiate spiritual energy. Many visitors describe feeling an overwhelming sense of calm, inspiration, or connection to nature while exploring these sites, adding an almost mystical dimension to the town’s allure.

Two landmarks that truly stood out to me were Praying Hands, a natural rock formation resembling folded hands that feels like a quiet sanctuary for reflection, and The Chapel of the Holy Cross, an architectural gem built seamlessly into the red rock cliffs. The chapel’s fusion of spirituality and landscape is genuinely mesmerising, offering views that stay with you long after you leave.

To share a bit of Sedona’s magic, here are a few of the photos I captured along the way.
